pak loh chiu chow express noodle with pork ball in soup

Although I have been eating non-stop during my flight from one continent to another, I was still hungry as I touched down in Hong Kong. I think it's because the meals in the plane, eventhough they were frequent, they're not very big portion-wise. This was my quest in search of my next meal.

That's when I stumbled upon Pak Loh Chiu Chow Express. I queued up, which didn't take me that long to get to the front, and ordered the noodle with pork ball in soup. I ordered it because the dish on the picture menu looked mild but appetising, just the right thing for my upset but hungry stomach.

cathay pacific meals

Seasonal fresh fruit
Yoghurt
Sweet & sour chicken with vegetables & steamed jasmine rice
Banana loaf

It's been so hectic lately that I find it hard to find the time to blog, what with the new house, the furniture shopping for the new house, the assembling of the furniture, the cleaning and the moving. It feels like I've been spending every single hour getting the house ready. But tonight I have resolved to make time to write this blog. It's about the food I ate during my journey back to Australia flying with Cathay Pacific.

man doo hyang yukgaejang

The title of this post may seem a bit nonsensical to you, like a jumble of random Korean words I pulled out of a hat, but it's not. Let me explain. Man Doo Hyang is a Korean restaurant in Mississauga, Ontario. And yukgaejang is Korean for spicy beef soup, which was what I ordered when I was in said restaurant.

You might have remembered that I previously raved about another Korean restaurant in Ontario. Man Doo Hyang is somehow of a different calibre to that one. Man Doo Hyang is more of a family oriented restaurant. When we were having dinner in the early afternoon, it was filled to the brim with Korean families, with lots of kids running around and such. But service was by no means inattentive, of course the waiter bell on the tables did help to move service along.

maki maki all-you-can-eat

My previous experience with all-you-can-eat sushi is minimal. The best I've had was in Western Australia at a restaurant called Shimizu. Although I found that Shimizu was not as good as Maki Maki.

There are a few reasons why I liked Maki Maki more than Shimizu. Maki Maki had a lot more variety in their dishes. The dishes were also prepared fresh when we order. When we were there for lunch, there were probably four other tables with customers, but it was not bustling busy. Service was efficient and courteous.
